Marie-Lou runs a nursing home in the Paris suburbs and fights to introduce a new, deeply humane approach to care, despite her team’s resistance. Her life changes when she meets Mari, a Japanese theatre director battling cancer. Brought together by a shared vision and by each woman’s wish to learn the other’s language, they form a deep friendship that changes how they see life and transforms the whole institution.
