We are delighted and excited to announce the finalists of the 2026 edition of the WRITE A SCREENPLAY FOR… competition, a program dedicated to a new generation of authors who transform bold ideas into stories with cinematic impact. This year’s theme, “Injustice,” brought forward dozens of powerful and surprising projects that explored injustice in its social, historical, intimate, and contemporary forms.
Following the selection process, the finalist projects were chosen in the Feature Film and Miniseries categories — screenplays that stood out through their authenticity, the strength of their conflict, and their relevance to the theme.
We would like to thank all participants for their trust, vulnerability, and courage in sharing their stories. Over 170 projects were submitted, which brings us great joy.
Congratulations to all the finalists and best of luck in the next stages!

I encourage everyone who feels they have a valuable idea to send us their proposals and to have the courage to tell their story, because the mentors will guide and support them throughout the process. In the end, we will select the winning projects and look for the ideal contexts to bring these screenplays to life.”

“Injustice is not just a theme; it is a call to action. We invite writers to bring to light stories that challenge the status quo, expose the struggles of the marginalized, and give voice to the voiceless. Whether emotional dramas or explorations of society’s flaws, we are looking for stories that reflect the realities of our world, inspire change, and promote understanding.”
— Irina Huțu (Development Executive, PRO TV)
Over 1,700 projects have been evaluated across the previous 7 editions of Write a Screenplay For…. Among the winners was a screenplay later selected and developed into the HBO Europe mini-series Spy/Master, which premiered at Berlinale Series 2023, marking a first for a Romanian project in this section.
