Jean-Michel Frodon

Renommé journaliste et critique français de film, Jean-Michel Frodon a écrit pour les prestigieuses publications Le Point (1983-1990), Le Monde (1990-2003) et il a été le rédacteur en chef de la revue Cahiers du Cinéma entre 2003 et 2009. Depuis, il est rédacteur en chef du site La science et l’art, plateforme de réflexions sur les défis et opportunités de l’interaction entre la science et l’art et il écrit pour Slate.fr/Blogs. Il est membre du comité éditorial et collaborateur permanent de la revue espagnole Caiman, Cuadernos de Cine et fondateur/directeur du groupe de réflexion L’Exception, accueilli par l’Institut national d’études politiques de Paris et la publication Le Monde. En 2014, il a été nommé vice-président de la Commission d’aide aux cinémas du monde, rattachée au Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée de France et à l’Institut français et il est l’auteur de nombreuses critiques et entretiens avec des cinéastes.

Parmi ses plus importants ouvrages figurent L’Âge moderne du cinéma français (Ed. Flammarion, 1995), Conversation avec Woody Allen (Ed. Plon, 2000), Assayas par Assayas, (Ed. Stock, 2014) ou Il était une fois le cinéma (Ed. Gallimard Jeunesse, 2014). Jean-Michel Frodon a une activité didactique intense, ancien professeur à l’Université Pantheon-Sorbonne et à l’École Normale Supérieure, il enseigne actuellement à Sciences Po Paris et, depuis 2012, il donne le cours « Film et industries créatives » à l’Université St. Andrews en Écosse.

Jean-Michel Frodon

A renowned French journalist and film critic, Jean-Michel Frodon wrote for the prestigious publications Le Point (1983-1990), Le Monde (1990-2003) and was the editor-in-chief of the magazine Cahiers du Cinema between 2003 and 2009. Since then, he is the editor-in-chief of the site La science et l’art, a platform for reflections on the challenges and opportunities of the interactions between science and art, and he writes on Slate.fr/Blogs. He is a member of the editorial committee and permanent collaborator of the Spanish magazines Caiman, Cuadernos de Cine and the founder/director of the think-tank, L’Exception, hosted by the National Institute of Political Science in France and Le Monde. In 2014, he was named vice-president of the Commission d’aide au Cinémas du monde, attached to the National Center of Cinematography in France and to the French Institute, and is the author of numerous reviews and interviews with filmmakers.

Among the most important published works: L’Âge modern du cinema français (Ed. Flammarion, 1995), Conversation avec Woody Allen (Ed. Plon, 2000), Assayas par Assayas, (Ed. Stock, 2014), and Il était une fois le cinéma (Ed. Gallimard Jeunesse, 2014). Jean-Michel Frodon’s activity is intensely didactic, being a former professor at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, École Normale Supérieure and, presently, at Sciences Po Paris. Since 2012, he has been holding the course “Film and creative industries” at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Renumit jurnalist și critic de film francez, Jean-Michel Frodon a scris pentru prestigioasele publicaţii Le Point (1983-1990), Le Monde (1990-2003) şi a fost redactorul şef al revistei Cahiers du Cinema între 2003 şi 2009. De atunci este redactor şef al site-ului La science et l’art, platformă de reflecţii asupra provocărilor şi oportunităţilor interacţiunii dintre ştiinţă şi artă, şi scrie peSlate.fr/Blogs. Este membru al comitetului editorial şi colaborator permanent al revistei spaniole Caiman, Cuadernos de Cine şi fondator/ director al think-tank-ului L’Exception, găzduit de Institutul Naţional de Ştiinţe Politice din Franţa şi Le Monde. În 2014, a fost numit vice-preşedinte al Commission d’aide au Cinémas du monde, subordonată Centrului Naţional al Cinematografiei din Franţa şi Institutului francez și este autorul a numeroase recenzii şi interviuri cu cineaşti.

Printre cele mai importante lucrări publicate se numără L’Âge moderne du cinéma français (Ed. Flammarion, 1995), Conversation avec Woody Allen (Ed. Plon, 2000), Assayas par Assayas, (Ed. Stock, 2014) sau Il était une fois le cinéma (Ed. Gallimard Jeunesse, 2014). Jean-Michel Frodon are o activitate didactică intensă fiind în trecut profesor la Universitatea Pantheon-Sorbonne şi la École Normale Supérieure iar în prezent la Sciences Po Paris iar, din 2012, susţine cursul „Film şi industrii creative” la Universitatea St. Andrews din Scoţia.
