Meetings with the actor on the September 19, 21 and 22, at CinemaPRO
The American Independent Film Festival is hosting three encounters with Ethan Hawke, special guest of the festival, on the 19th, 20th of 21st of September. The American actor will introduce the film „Born to Be Blue”, on September 19, starting 21:00h on the occasion of its premiere in Romania. Ethan Hawke plays the role of the famous American jazz trumpeter, Chet Baker, a jazz legend of 1950s and the film will have only this one screening in the festival.
Bucharest cinema lovers have a second meeting scheduled with Ethan Hawke, on the 20th of September, at the beginning of the movie „Boyhood”, directed by Richard Linklater. „Boyhood” has won best movie at the 2015 Golden Globes and it is a revolutionary production filmed for 12 years, with the same cast. It tells a story about growing up, seen through the eyes of a boy named Mason, who literally grows up on screen.
The third encounter with Ethan Hawke will also mark the closing of this year’s edition of the American Independent Film Festival. The actor will be holding a Q&A at the end of the screening of „Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead”, directed Sidney Lumet, and scheduled at CinemaPRO for 19:00h, on September 21. The talk will be hosted by film critic Irina Margareta Nistor.
The American Independent Film Festival has started in Bucharest with premiers, meetings with the actors, as well as Q&A sessions. Director Barry Jenkins opened the festival, answering questions by the public at the screening of „Moonlight”, through a live Skype intervention. American actors John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix were even closer to the audience, having answered questions in person on the 16th of September, in Bucharest.
