Special event organized under the umbrella of Les Films de Cannes à Bucarest – a discussion.
Managing Talents returns this year at Les Films de Cannes à Bucharest with a series of workshops that focus on… accents. The 5th edition proposes the actors a series of two meetings, with two famous coaches, with whom they will work to reduce or train their accent in two different languages: English and Romanian (regional accents).
Where and when it takes place:
The workshops will take place online on Saturday, October 31.
Each workshop will have approximately 90 minutes and will take place between 11:00 and 16:00.

William Conacher has been a dialect coach for 25 years. He originally trained as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy in London before gaining his Post Grad Diploma in Voice from the Central School of Speech and Drama. He taught dialect at RADA for 8 years. For the cinema William’s work includes Perfume The story of a Murderer and Cloud Atlas for Tom Tykwer, The Reader and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close for Stephen Daldry, Queen of the Desert for Werner Herzog. He coached Rami Malek for his Oscar winning performance in Bohemian Rhapsody and their collaboration will be seen again in the bond film No Time to Die. For television William is associated with several successful productions, including all four seasons of The Crown so far.
Cristian Mungiu is a Romanian filmmaker born in Iaşi, Romania in 1968. His debut film, Occident / West, was premiered in Quinzaine des Realisateurs in Cannes in 2002 and was an audience hit in Romania. In 2007, his second feature, 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days, was awarded the Palme d’Or in Cannes. The film later received several awards as best film of the year from various international associations of film critics. It also won the European Film Academy awards for best film and best director. He returned to Cannes in 2009 as a writer-producer-co-director with the collective episodic film Tales from the Golden Age and as a writer-director in 2012 with Beyond the Hills – double awarded for Best Screenplay and Best actresses. Bacalaureat / Graduation is his fifth film presented in Cannes, awarded for Best Director in 2016.
Poll Moussoulides is one of Europe most sought after Voice and Dialect Coaches. For over 25 years he has worked on many Theatre productions, and on more than 55 Feature Films and TV Series. He has coached thousands of Actors – from absolute beginners to several Oscar winners. For the last 8 years he was the Supervising Dialogue Coach on the TV Series ‘Vikings’, and currently on the Netflix continuation ‘Valhalla’. During this time he also worked on several other Productions including with Daisy Edgar Jones on ‘Normal People’ (Hulu), and currently with Charlie Cox on ‘Kin’ (Bron) and with Kit Harrington, on ‘Modern Love’ (Amazon Prime). How it works:
Actors who want to master their pronunciation in a foreign language and work their accent in one or both of the Managing Talents workshops are invited to apply with the following materials:
a video sample (self-tape) based on the text proposed by us, corresponding to the desired category (English, Romanian) * OR a video sample with a monologue from a favorite movie scene or play (in English for the English workshop and the Romanian language for the Romanian dialects workshop).
a CV or Reel.
The two materials (self-tape and CV / Reel) will be uploaded on https://wetransfer.com/, and the link will be filled in the below form. Registrations can be made until October 23.
* for those who want to apply to both workshops, a video sample is required for each of the 2 workshops.
The 6 finalists will be announced on October 27. They will work individually together with the designated coaches. Actors who have not been selected, but who want to watch the workshops online, will receive a login link. At the end of the workshops, they will have the opportunity to ask some
questions to the coaches.

Eligibility: Professional actors as well as acting school students are eligible.
