Les Films de Cannes festival organises the first edition of the Managing Talents workshop in <\/strong>Timi\u0219oara between October 21-22<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Managing Talents is a program designed for actors as part of Les Films de Cannes festival. Within the Managing Talents program, participating actors have the opportunity to meet Romanian and international casting directors and talent agents, learn how to create an effective self-tape, and participate in acting workshops.<\/p>\n

This year’s edition in Timi\u0219oara offers a series of masterclasses by casting director Ulrike M\u00fcller (Germany) and Julia Patry (France), a representative of filmmakers.eu, the largest database of actors in Europe. Actor and acting trainer Julien Javions will conduct an interactive workshop in which 18 participants will have the opportunity to work on the spot using an innovative technique called analyse in action.<\/p>\n

Where and when: At Cinema Timi\u0219, on Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, October 21, 10:00 AM at Cinema Timi\u0219<\/span><\/strong>, all registered participants will gather for an open conference, followed by a Q&A session with the two guests, Ulrike M\u00fcller and Julia Patry.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, October 22, 10:00 AM at Cinema Timi\u0219<\/strong>, will take place the interactive workshop led by Julien Javions.<\/p>\n

Registration<\/strong>: Participation is free, but access is granted only after registration through the following form:<\/p>\n<\/div>

A renowned casting director from Germany with an impressive career of over 100 films and winner of the German Casting Award. Among the films she worked on are: In my room<\/em>, directed by Ulrich K\u00f6hler, in the Cannes selection Un certain Regard<\/em>, Theory of Everything<\/em>, directed by Timm Kr\u00f6ger and The promised Land<\/em>, directed by Nikolaj Arcel, both in the competition of the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery project, whether cinema, television or\u00a0 theatre, is a new challenge requiring full dedication and an individual approach. Through my close collaboration with the director and the producer I am able to assemble a unique cast ranging from film and theatre actors to new discoveries. My research covers not only German-speaking countries, but also many actors throughout Europe as a whole. Here, I pay particular attention to creating a strong and dynamic ensemble.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

After an early career in PR and media, Julia focused on her passion and transitioned into the audiovisual industry. For more than ten years now, Julia has been working in various roles of filmmaking; always connected to casting. As an assistant to Casting Directors such as Laurent Couraud and Nathalie Cheron, as well as working for Agencies as Cin\u00e9art, Julia built her in-depth understanding of the art of Casting, the needs of Directors, Agents, Casting Directors, and Actors as well as the complex process of finding the perfect cast. Since early 2022 Julia is leading the operations of Filmmakers Europe in France.<\/p>\n

Filmmakers Europe www.filmmakers.eu<\/a> is the largest network of professional actors in the EU. We believe that, as of today, most relevant fictional roles in the EU are directly or indirectly cast using Filmmakers. As Filmmakers offers a \u201cfree\u201d plan for professional actors which is including a full profile with credits, headshots and showreel functionality, and having the furthest adaption within the EU, Filmmakers is the one relevant platform professional actors need to actively use to be visible throughout the EU. With special focus on France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal, all registered actors are directly visible for projects in these regions. This, combined with the trend towards more authentic and diverse storytelling, makes Filmmakers Europe especially valuable for actors in smaller regions of the EU.<\/p>\n

Is a french awarded actor director and acting coach. All along his experiences in theatre and films he simultaneously observed, questioned, theorised and researched the acting techniques, their method of transmission and their efficiency.<\/p>\n

On set, often watching difficulties of actors and hearing producers and director\u2019s true needs and expectations about actor\u2019s performances, he started to personally train actors to help adapt their techniques for the requirement of films.<\/p>\n

In 2013 he founded the film school for actors : Maison Des Acteurs<\/a>, one of the rare acting schools with a systematic training with shooting conditions.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

– What happens during the final process of choosing an actor or an actress at the final stage of the call back (in the casting process)?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

– How to analyse a text to your advantage to be quickly ready for the set or for a casting?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

– How to use your acting partner, the set or accessories to ground your performance?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop held by Julien Javions tries to answer these questions. It will be realized through 9 filmed sequences involving 9 pairs of actors, who will work on adaptations of some plays by Cehov, Moli\u00e8re and Tom Murphy, through the technique of analysis in action<\/em><\/strong>, which accesses the creativity of the actor, avoiding the fakeness of the acting game. The other participants in the workshop will have the opportunity to observe the working techniques.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
