Maria is trapped between two worlds, one governed by asceticism, the other fuelled by the need to reconnect with her two sons. Through carefully composed shots and minimalistic sound design, we glimpse into her everyday life, thoughts and emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n

APPALACHIA<\/strong> (dir. Roxana Stroe, 28 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

In a deeply religious community in provincial Romania, two teenage outcasts fall in love, but everything else falls apart.<\/span><\/p>\n

AMOK<\/strong> (dir. Bal\u00e1zs Turai, 14 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

After losing his fianc\u00e9e and his good looks in a freak accident, Clyde must confront his inner demon.<\/span><\/p>\n

FLYING SHEEP<\/strong> (dir. Alexandra Gulea, 24 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

The film explores the memory of the Aromanians roaming into a permanent exile between mountains and seas. Their history is told from the subjective point of view of the director, who uses archival elements that passionately interpret the Aromanians’ perpetual and tragic wandering.<\/span><\/p>\n

I HAD BEEN SLEEPWALKING WHEN I SAW ALL THOSE COLORS<\/strong> (dir. Bogdan Balla, 10 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by Derek Jarman’s Section 28 installation, the film compares personal experiences to stories from the recent history of the Romanian queer community, linking them to lyrical observations about a still hidden present and exploring the difference between the silent realities of queer love and the hysteria of its public representation.<\/span><\/p>\n

HIDDEN PLACES<\/strong> (dir. Teona Galgo\u021biu, 17 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

A teenager reveals to her mom the cuts she has made on her legs. Overwhelmed by the confession, the mother goes for a walk with the family’s dog, Iaia, who also has a secret.<\/span><\/p>\n

SASHA<\/strong> (dir. Serghei Chiviriga, 13 min.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Confused by the whole world and his own body, a teenager is forced to discover in a strange way the truth about his sexual identity.<\/span><\/p>\n
