He was 40 years old and his film <em><strong>A Separation<\/strong><\/em> had won more than 70 prizes: among them the Golden Bear and the Lex Interpretation Prize in Berlin, Oscar, Golden Globe, Cesar for Best Foreign Film.<br \/>\nIt was his fifth feature film and he confirmed &#8211; after <em><strong>About Elly<\/strong><\/em> (2009), which made a strong impression in Berlin (Silver Bear for the Best Director) &#8211; a very special voice, a lucid filmmaker who dissects the society Iranian with exceptional acuity.<br \/>\nIn 1998, at Teheran, he graduated with a Master&#8217;s degree in directing. The results of his years of study were already impressive: six short films, screenplays and two series for television. In 2003, he began with <em><strong>Dancing in the Dust<\/strong><\/em>, the first in a series of complex films about the subtle collisions between social classes and mentalities. These are followed, in addition to the titles already mentioned, by <em><strong>Les Enfants de Belle Ville<\/strong><\/em> (2004), <em><strong>La Fete du feu<\/strong><\/em> (2006), <em><strong>The Past<\/strong> <\/em>(Best Actor Award at Cannes for B\u00e9r\u00e9nice Bejo, 2013), <em><strong>The Client<\/strong><\/em> (Oscar du Best Foreign Film, Screenplay and Male Performance Award &#8211; Shahab Hosseini, Cannes 2016).
