The film lovers of Timisoara will have a special quest in the first evening of the festival, the Mexican <strong>Carlos Reygadas<\/strong>, at the premiere of his film <strong><em>Nuestro Tiempo<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Les Films de Cannes \u00e0 Arad opens today at Cinema Art for three days. The special guest of the first evening is director <strong>Zs\u00f3fia Szil\u00e1gyi<\/strong>, with <strong><em>One Day<\/em><\/strong>, his debut film, present in the section Semaine de la critique at Cannes festival.<\/p>\n<p>14.000 \u00a0tickets were sold in advance\u00a0 for the festival <em>Les Films de <\/em><em>Cannes \u00e0 Bucarest<\/em>, which will take place at Cinema PRO, Cinema Elvire Popesco, Cinema Muzeul \u021a\u0103ranului, Cinemateca Union, B\u0103neasa Shopping City Grand Cinema&amp;More and CINETic.<\/p>\n<p>From the surprises of the first days we mention the participation of the director <strong>Gaspar No\u00e9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The director returns to Romania as a guest of Les Films de Cannes \u00e0 Bucarest for the third time and will meet with the audience on October 21st at Cinema PRO at the <strong><em>Climax<\/em><\/strong> film screening, which was named by Variety critics as &#8220;the most recent foray into Hell&#8221; of the incorrigible director.<\/p>\n<p>This year <em>Les Films de Cannes\u00a0\u00e0<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>Bucarest<\/em> brings for the first time three <strong>photo exhibitions<\/strong>. At Cinema PRO, the audience will have the chance to admire the red carpet photos from this year&#8217;s Cannes festival made by artist Samina Seyed. At Apollo 111, the festival&#8217;s HUB, photos of Cristian Mungiu at Morelia will be exhibited, as part of the event Focus Mexico. And Cinema Muzeul \u021a\u0103ranului will host <em>behind the scene<\/em> images, which uncover the activity of the director Lucian Pintilie.<\/p>\n<p>The four films from the first Friday of the Bucharest Festival will each have special guests. The first film screening of the evening is the love story <strong><em>Sh\u00e9h\u00e9razade<\/em><\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> by <strong>Jean Bernard Marlin<\/strong>. This debut coming directly from <em>Semaine de la Critique<\/em> will be projected in the presence of the director at Cinema Elvire Popesco.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the film lovers can chose Cinema Muzeul \u021a\u0103ranului, for the beginning of the Tribute Lucian Pintilie, with the film <strong><em>Balan\u021ba<\/em><\/strong> and the documentary <strong><em>Filmare\/Filmage<\/em><\/strong>, realized during the filming, in 1992. The producer <strong>Marin Karmitz<\/strong>, the actors <strong>Maia Morgenstern<\/strong>, <strong>Marcel Iure\u0219<\/strong> and <strong>Ioan Chelaru<\/strong> and the director <strong>Gabriel Kosuth <\/strong>will be present during the show<strong>. Marin Karmitz <\/strong>will be present also on Sunday, to the screening of his film <strong><em>Coup pour coup<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The opening Gala brings Academy Award winning director <strong>Asghar Farhadi<\/strong> to Cinema PRO. He will also be present to the masterclass held after the screening of the film <strong><em>A Separation<\/em><\/strong>, on Saturday, at Cinema Elvire Popesco, and to the introduction of the film <strong><em>About Elly<\/em><\/strong>, on Sunday at Cinemateca Union.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, the dreamers will spend the evening at Cinema PRO with the youngsters from <strong>Burning,<\/strong> adaptation after Haruki Murakami directed by Lee Chang-dong, who will be available at the end, via Skype, for a discussion with the audience. Zs\u00f3fia Szil\u00e1gyi will arrive in Bucharest for the screening of her movie, <strong>One Day<\/strong>, about a mother who struggling with the day of only 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Also Saturday, Cinemateca Union will run <strong><em>Jap\u00f3n<\/em><\/strong>, the debut of the director Carlos Reygadas. He will be available for a Q&amp;A session at the end of this film, that propelled him directly into the Cannes critics\u2019 top charts. He will also be present on Sunday, at <strong><em>Our Time<\/em><\/strong>, his latest film that premiered in Venice this autumn. <strong><em>Our Time<\/em><\/strong>\/<strong><em>Nuestro Tiempo<\/em><\/strong> displays Reygadas as a director, screenwriter and leading actor, and his whole family plays next to him. The director and his wife, editor and actress Natalia Lopez, will be present at the show followed by masterclass.<\/p>\n<p><em>Les Films de Cannes \u00e0 Bucarest <\/em>invites viewers to reserve their place in advance for the films and discussions they are interested in<em>.<\/em> In the evenings, after the shows, they are welcomed to have a glass of wine and to talk about the films of the days and the ones that will follow, at <strong>Apollo 111<\/strong> (23-25, Actor Ion Brezoianu Street).<\/p>\n<p>The tickets and reservations, including the shows with free entry are available online on <em><a href=\"https:\/\/eventbook.ro\/program\/festivalul-filmelor-de-la-cannes\">Eventbook.ro<\/a><\/em> and at the ticket offices in each movie theater.
