He has collaborated with Lars von Trier for Melancholia, Nymphomaniac and for his latest film, The House that Jack Built, and is the director of photography of The Untamed, Amat Escalante‘s thriller which won the Award for staging in Venice in 2017. Born in Chile and established in Denmark, Manuel Claro has been director of photography for more than 35 films since 2001. He has been awarded for Melancholia (European Film Awards, 2011), Dark Horse by Dagur Kári or Reconstruction, by Christoffer Boe, projected in Cannes. He has also made videos and commercials for international brands.
