MARY-LOUISE PARKER<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Mary-Louise Parker is a recipient of two Tony awards, the Emmy, two Golden Globes, the Satellite Award, two Obies and two Lucille Lortel Awards, as well as the Drama Desk, Outer Critics, and Drama League Awards, the Clarence Derwent, and Theatre World Awards, and more. She\u2019s appeared on and off Broadway and in Television and Film for over thirty-five years. Ms. Parker was an on-staff contributor to Esquire magazine for over a decade, and her writing has appeared in The New York Times, O magazine, Bullett, Glamour, The Riveter, Hemispheres, and others. Her first book Dear Mr. You was translated into five languages, as well as being recognized by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the best books of the year. Together with Elizabeth Cuthrell she produced and directed the award-winning PSA \u2018Stop The Hate\u2019 in response to the surge in attacks on people of color following the events of 9\/11. Her humanitarian efforts in the U.S. and East Africa have been recognized by the David Lynch Foundation and the Los Angeles County Commission for Human Rights, and her work on behalf of the LGBTQ community has been recognized by the Hetrick-Martin Institute, The NYC LGBT Center, GLAAD, and OUT Magazine. William Atticus Parker is nineteen and the writer, director, and producer of two feature films, Forty Winks (2022) and Atrabilious (2023). He received critical acclaim for his first feature film, Forty Winks (2022). His second feature film, Atrabilious (2023), was announced in October of 2022 on Deadline and debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes to critical acclaim as well. His inspirations include Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, Wong Kar-wai, Spike Lee, Wes Anderson, Denis Villeneuve, Steven Spielberg, and many more.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

MARIETTA VON HAUSSWOLFF VON BAUMGARTEN<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Marietta is a Swedish screenwriter for film and TV, and an international script consultant whose work over the last 14 years includes Sundance Labs, Torino Film Lab, Binger (Amsterdam), Biennale College Venice, Feature Expanded (Manchester, Florens), Hezaya (Doha), Tiff Studio Toronto FF, Cinelink Drama Sarajevo, Bridging the Dragon, Talent Campus, Midpoint, Fly Film lab (Philippines, Korea), Locarno open doors and Myanmar Script Fund. She has also done script development in China, Mongolia, Nepal and with Pakistan. She\u2019s been in international juries, such as CPH Dox (Denmark)and San Miguel (Mexico) main competition.<\/p>\n

Marietta studied Film and TV at Tisch School of Arts NYC and is a voting member of the European film Academy and member of the Swedish Screen Writers Guild. She works extensively with development and writing of TV-series. The films Marietta has consulted on have competed in film festivals all around the world \u2013 such as The Babadook, Nancy, Hunting Season, H, Diamond island, The Fits, Le Quattro Volte, Too late to die young, Children of Sarajevo, The Heiresses, Jesus, The Load, Mediterranea, Sole, Litigante, Pari, Costa Brava Lebanon, Family Time and others. Her feature film Call Girl (written, co-produced) won the Fipresci award in Toronto, competed and won in places like Torino, Palm Springs, Stockholm, Buenos Aires, and Taipei.<\/p>\n

More recently she\u2019s been in Writer\u2019s Rooms with writers like Adam Price (creator of Borgen) and has written for the Netflix series Ragnarok. Together with Anthea Devotta she founded the Write Retreat, the right place to write.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

ALINA MANOLACHE<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Alina Manolache<\/span> is a Romanian filmmaker. Her practice stands at the intersection between documentary cinema and education. Featured by Filmmaker Magazine as one of the best female directors of IDFA 2020, Manolache signed several acclaimed short films and one feature-length documentary (\u2018Lost Kids on the Beach\u2019, 2020), as well as commissioned web docs for VICE and The Guardian. She was an artist-in-residence in Paris, has served on international juries (CPH:DOX, Mons, among others) and has given workshops and mentorship to aspiring filmmakers around the world, collaborating with the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Kunst Hochschule Kassel, among others. Currently, she contributes as a visiting lecturer at Hochschule Design & Kunst Luzern, Switzerland, and she works on her sophomore feature documentary, \u2018Chronicles of an Aimless Summer\u2019 (in production).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

LIVIU P. DINU<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Liviu P. Dinu (https:\/\/nlp.unibuc.ro\/people\/liviu.html) is a professor at the University of Bucharest, Computer Science Department, director of the Human Language Technologies Research Center, and member of Computer Science and Interdisciplinary Doctoral Schools. His main research is in Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information processing, etc., and he has published two books, seven chapters in books and over 150 scientific papers in journals and conferences. Solomon Marcus was his PhD supervisor (obtained in 2003 at the University of Bucharest), and in 2014 he defended his habilitation thesis entitled \u201cSimilarity and Decision Problems in Computational Linguistics\u201d. He carried out postdoctoral work at the University of Trieste (2005). In 2007 he received \u201cGrigore C. Moisil\u201d Prize, awarded by the Romanian Academy (for 2005). He has initiated and managed 14 national and international R&D projects and was involved in 14 other R&D projects. Currently, he is PI of the project \u201cCoToHiLi: Computational Tools for Historical Linguistics\u201d (https:\/\/nlp.unibuc.ro\/projects\/cotohili.html). He also initiated a master\u2019s program in Natural Language Processing in 2020 at the University of Bucharest.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

IRINA TROCAN<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Lecturer at the National University of Theatre and Cinema in Bucharest and coordinator of the online film magazine Acoperi\u0219ul de Sticl\u0103 (\u201cthe Glass Roof\u201d). Irina wrote her doctoral thesis speculating on the roots of contemporary video essays in the tradition of essay cinema and co-edited an anthology of documentary theory, <\/span>The reality of fiction, the fiction of the real<\/span><\/i> (2018), and more recently, <\/span>Romanian Cinema Inside Out \u2014 Insights on Film Culture, Industry and Politics<\/span><\/i> 1912-2019 <\/span><\/i>(Romanian Cultural Institute Press, 2019).<\/span><\/p>\n

She programmed short films for the NexT International Film Festival (2011-2016) and her writing was published in journals and film magazines such as Close Up, Cineaste, Sight & Sound, Photog\u00e9nie, IndieWire, Dilema Veche. Her research interests include videographic criticism, digital media, the essay film, film festivals, racial representation, historical representation in non-classical cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2006 he founded, together with Ana Agopian and Oana R\u0103suceanu, the Cultural Association Control N, which aims to educate filmmakers and support young talents in the area of performing arts. She has been actively involved in film education as project manager and trainer in various projects in Romania and abroad. In her 18 years of career, she has worked with non-professionals, children, disadvantaged groups, ethnic minorities, prisoners and drug addicts.<\/span><\/p>\n

For 10 years he was an associate professor and then university lecturer at the Department of Screenwriting – Filmology at the National University of Theatre and Cinema “I.L. Caragiale”, and continues to work today in the field of script consultancy locally and internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

MIHAI GRECU<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Mihai Grecu is a multimedia artist, film director and producer, born in Romania in 1981. He currently lives in France, where he completed his studies at the Fresnoy Studio of Contemporary Arts. Recurring themes in his works are natural disasters, transformations of space and the contemporary collective subconscious dominated by political and ecological allegories. A quiet, contemplative state is present in these works that use new digital technologies to generate possible new territories of existence. Sublimely and seductively staged, these dreamlike visions conceal fundamental questions about the origins of the ecological and ideological transformations of the 21st century.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

MARIUS LEORDEANU<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Marius Leordeanu is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest (UPB) and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Mathematics “Simion Stoilow” of the Romanian Academy (IMAR). In general he is interested in intelligence, consciousness and life. In particular his research focuses on computer vision, machine learning and robotics.<\/p>\n

At UPB, Marius introduced in 2014 the courses of Computer Vision and Robotics and at IMAR has started the Computer Vision Reading Group. He received his PhD in 2009 from the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University and his Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2003, from Hunter College of the City University of New York.<\/p>\n

For his work on unsupervised learning for graph matching he received, in 2014, the \u201cGrigore Moisil\u201d Prize, the most prestigious award in Mathematics given by the Romanian Academy. Currently, he leads research projects on various computer vision and deep learning problems. They span a diverse but well-connected directions of research, which aim in complementary ways to achieve, with as little supervision as possible, a coherent semantic understanding of the visual world in space and time. Such research areas include unsupervised learning, optimization methods for graphs and deep neural networks, object tracking, semantic segmentation, vision and learning for Earth Observation, activity recognition in video, as well as connecting vision and language.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Flavia Dima (b. 1993, Brasov) is a film critic, film curator and translator. An alumnus of programmes such as Berlinale Talents and Locarno Critics Academy, she is associate curator of the international short and feature film competitions of the Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival (BIEFF) and has written for publications such as FILM MENU, Films in Frame, Echinox, VICE, Variety, MUBI Notebook and Kinoscope.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Iulia Rugin\u0103 studied film and television directing at the National University of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, continuing with a master’s degree and a PhD in cinematography, completed in 2020, at the same faculty. He has written and directed 12 short films, including <\/span>Captivi de Cr\u0103ciun<\/span><\/i> (2010) and <\/span>S\u0103 mori de dragoste r\u0103nit\u0103<\/span><\/i> (2014), three feature films, the series <\/span>Love Building<\/span><\/i> (2013,2014) and <\/span>Breaking News<\/span><\/i> (2017) and a play, <\/span>Neverland<\/span><\/i> (2018). In 2021 he signed on to direct 6 of the 8 episodes of the series <\/span>Ruxx<\/span><\/i>, produced by HBO Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gabriel P\u0103un, born 1977, is a Romanian biologist who has been campaigning since 2001 for thriving nature and animal rights together with organizations such as Greenpeace, Agent Green, Four Paws and Animals International. He investigates and exposes wrong doings of governments and corporations worldwide, promotes viable solutions, advocates authorities and builds awareness until topics reach big media and political agenda. He has achieved a cultivation ban on genetically engineered soya in Romania and generated debates on this matter also in Ukraine. His persuasive work for forests contributed to strict protection of several tens of thousands of hectares with primary and old-growth forests in Romania. Also, multinational corporations had to strengthen their wood supply polices, while the Romanian government had to publish the full traceability of every single cut tree from forest to factory. He won over a hundred trials on nature matters and brought his own country in a systemic infringement at the EU Commission to improve forest governance and better application of EU nature directives in Romania. His long-term investigations and complaints as representative of Animals International to the EU authorities and most of the EU member states on live export of animals contributed to the justification of the ongoing EU parliament inquiry and revision of the transport regulation. He has visited most of the EU exit points for exported animals via sea and documented the fate of EU exported animals in most of the third countries in North Africa and the Middle East. In February 2021, he was granted with the title of the honorary counselor to the prime minister of Romania.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Din 2011 lucreaz\u0103 pentru Four Paws International \u00een diferite proiecte de salvare de animale s\u0103lbatice\/animale s\u0103lbatice \u0219i de gestionare a popula\u021biei. \u00cencep\u00e2nd cu anul 2012 a dezvoltat programul de control al na\u0219terilor pentru caii s\u0103lbatici de la Letea Sandbank – Delta Dun\u0103rii, Rom\u00e2nia.<\/p>\n

\u00cen 2018 a ob\u021binut titlul de doctor cu teza ”Managementul reproductiv al popula\u021biei de cabaline s\u0103lbatice din Letea Sandbank – Delta Dun\u0103rii”. A participat la mai multe misiuni interna\u021bionale de salvare a animalelor \u0219i de ajutorare \u00een caz de dezastre (Gaza Stip 2016, Irak 2017, Indonezia – cutremure 2018, Rom\u00e2nia- r\u0103sturnarea navei Queen Hind 2019).<\/p>\n

is a film director (Robo\u021belul de aur, Totul pentru Riana, Auric\u0103, Via\u021b\u0103 de c\u00e2ine) and a member of the Bruno Shelter Association. He is one of the journalists who documented the forest mafia in Bucovina and the illegal deforestation in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

GABRIELA IACOB<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div>

Gabriela Iacob is a script doctor at her storytelling studio Storyliners. She studied film directing at Media University in Bucharest. Having worked on a variety of screenplays as Head of Development for a studio company, then for an independent one, she is experienced in all stages of the development pipeline from creation, pitching, pre-production to post-production. She is currently Head of Scripted Content Development at Pro TV, sits on the selection committee at Cinema Pendent L\u2019Alternativa Barcelona and is overseeing this new Mentoring Projects programme at Alternativa Pro Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
