Reilly, Joaquin Phoenix<\/p><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>The American Independent Film Festival starts today in Bucharest. The festival takes place between the 15th and the 21st of September and brings together a selection of the most recent independent movies, <em>made in USA<\/em>. <strong>Barry<\/strong> <strong>Jenkins<\/strong>, Oscar winning director in 2017, for the Best Motion Picture, will be opening the festival with a live Q&amp;A, via Skype, at the end of the \u201cMoonlight\u201d screening. The complete schedule of the festival is available <a href=\"https:\/\/filmedefestival.ro\/american-independent-ff\/editia-2017\/american-independent-ff\/program\/#tab-299e6729b28e7ae14ae\">here<\/a>, and tickets can be purchased through the Eventim network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have try to grow as an artist, and challenge yourself, and find new people, who can inspire you and great people with whom you can work. I was very lucky I started off my first movie with Sean Penn and Brian De Palma. And Sean was an early mentor, and in the beginning, he said: now that you did this you have to try to do things as good or better than what you have already done, because you are defined by your last role\u201d says <strong>John C. Reilly<\/strong> in an interview for the Festival, that can be read in Romanian on the American Independent Film <a href=\"https:\/\/filmedefestival.ro\/american-independent-ff\/editia-2017\/american-independent-ff\/john-c-reilly-un-soldat-loial\/\">Festival website<\/a>. In honour of the presence of the actors John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix in Romania, for the shooting\u00a0 on the the international production \u201cThe Sisters Brothers\u201d directed by Jacques Audiard, on September 16 the festival will screen the films \u201c<strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Little<\/strong> <strong>Hours<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>Hard<\/strong> <strong>Eight<\/strong>\u201d. <strong>John<\/strong> <strong>C<\/strong>. <strong>Reilly<\/strong> will be attending the festival depending on the hour at which shooting for film will end on Saturday. <strong>Joaquin<\/strong> <strong>Phoenix<\/strong> will also be present on Saturday, for the screening of \u201c<strong>Her<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The International production of \u201cThe Sisters Brothers\u201d directed by Jacques Audiard, has also brought to Bucharest costume designer Milena Canonero, winner of four Oscars for Costume Design, for \u201cBarry Lyndon\u201d (1975), \u201cChariots of Fire (1981), \u201cMarie Antoinette\u201d (2006) and \u201c<strong>The Grand Budapest Hotel\u201d<\/strong> (2014). Honouring her presence in Bucharest, \u201c<strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Grand<\/strong> <strong>Budapest<\/strong> <strong>Hotel<\/strong>\u201d will be playing Saturday, September 16, at 18:30 at Cinemateca Eforie, within the American Independent Film Festival. Milena Canonero began her carrier working with director Stanley Kubrik, and her portfolio includes collaborations with renowned directors, like Alan Parker, Hugh Hudson, Francis F. Coppola, Roman Polanski and Sofia Coppola.
