American Independent Film Festival<\/h2>

It is an American film, culture and lifestyle festival that aims to use the popularity of cinema, but also the cultural values \u200b\u200bpropagated by it, to achieve cultural, educational, training, professional and humanitarian objectives, among a Romanian audience in whose education these values \u200b\u200bhave a significant place. The project has presented in Romania, throughout the eight editions held so far, a selection of the most recent independent productions made in the USA, critically acclaimed and selected in the circuit of major North American festivals such as Sundance, New York, Tribeca, Telluride or Toronto or at major festivals such as Berlin, Venice or Cannes. Year after year, the films attest to the vitality of a cinema located outside of Hollywood conventions and are divided into specific sections, which are joined by events, masterclasses, Q&As, open talks, and specialized workshops.<\/p>\n

AIFF also has an essential humanitarian mission: all proceeds from the organizers are donated to non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n

The American Independent Film Festival had the honor of having invited international actors such as Joaquin Phoenix, Ethan Hawke, John C. Reilly, Sebastian Stan, Mary-Louise Parker and directors such as Roberto Minervini and Jacques Audiard, who accepted the invitations to be present in Bucharest and share their professional and life experience with the audience. The festival also facilitated live conversations between the Bucharest film-loving audience and some of the great directors of contemporary American cinema: Barry Jenkins, Sean Baker, Kent Jones, Paul Schrader, Benh Zeitlin, Alexander Payne and Steven Spielberg.<\/p>\n

This year’s edition in Bucharest, the 9th, will take place between June 6 and 12, at Cinema Elvire Popesco and Cinema Muzeul \u021a\u0103ranului. The festival will also take place in 6 other cities in the country during June: Cluj-Napoca, Timi\u0219oara, Sibiu, Ia\u0219i, Arad, Bran.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
