Juho Kuosmanen

Juho Kuosmanen (born in 1979) is from Helsinki, Finland. Before his first feature film, The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki, he has won numerous awards with his short and medium films: Roadmarkers (2007) and The Painting Sellers (2010, 60’) won awards of the Cinéfondation section in Cannes, the second one also being awarded five trophies at the Finnish Film Academy Awards; Citizens (2008) won, among others, the second prize of the Leopardi di Domani Competition, in Locarno. In 2014, he graduated in film studies at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki is the winner of the Un Certain Regard section and Finland’s submission to the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
